The husk is all that remains of Chaucer's Oak and in order to help preserve it we first balanced the trunk around its considerable girth before lifting it from the site. A 4 metre post was then sunk and concreted 2 metres into the ground before the husk was lowered back over the pole to stabilise and secure it for many years to come.
