Section Felling This is where the tree is felled section by section and where necessary these pieces can be lowered on ropes individually. Reduction Where the overall size of the tree is reduced by a certain precentage, reshaped and cleaned of dead wood. Pollarding Where a tree is pruned back to a set point, usually the crown or a few feet from it.

Epicormic Pruning Where the growth of small branches are cleared from the trunk below the crown to improve timber value in the future.
